HOW TO BUY TIRES
The
Tire Rack is a Hit!
After spending several hours calling around to
the various tires stores (including the big
discount tire companies), we searched the web
and bought from The Tire Rack
We saved at least $500. We enjoyed the process so
much we put this page up so others could save too!
Here's Our
Advice....
First
and foremost, you must be able to wait 2-5 days for your tires.
Hopefully you're here in time. If you are, read on.
Here
is our step-by-step guide to buying tires:
-
First,
go to
The Tire Rack
-
Search
for recommended tires for your vehicle (within the site)
-
Sort
by your preference (brand, price, performance, etc.)
-
Read
the reviews and customer surveys to see how satisfied customers
are with the tire selected.
-
Call
around to your local tire dealers and see if they will match The
Tire Rack's prices. If they do, great!
-
If
you decide to go with
The Tire Rack, call your local tire store or service station
and ask what they will charge to install your tires. Typically,
it's $12 - 20 per tire.
-
Yes,
you will be charged shipping - but our shipping was only $40.
And, they shipped right to our doorstep. We then simply took the
tires to the tire dealer and had them installed.
-
We
saved the sales tax as well which easily accounted for the $40.
All
told, we estimate that we saved at least $500. On the tires we bought,
we paid $88 per tire. The tire dealer, who installed our tires,
showed us their cost which was $190. That means we would have paid
at least $250 per tire retail! In fact, the dealer asked where we
got the tires! |
